Data acquisition (DAQ) is the process of sampling signals that measure different physical conditions in the real world, temperature for instance, and converting those samples into numeric values. These values are viewed, analyzed and manipulated on the measuring device or on a computer.
Data loggers are essentially DAQ devices that store their collected data onboard for later retrieval and viewing. Typically the stored values represent voltage, temperature, humidity or digital state. Data Loggers can come in variety of versions such as portable, multifunction, low and high channel counts and some even have their own display.
DAQ software is required in order for the DAQ hardware to work with a computer. DAQ software allows the user to take measurements, visualise, analyse and store data. The software can just be the drivers but at Firetail DAQ we provide software for all levels of expertise. For the experienced programmer we have example files for all our functions and all our boards and for the novice, a simple out of the box application. We provide support for DASYLab, Matlab and LabView. We also supply DASYLab and TracerDAQ Pro.

MCC's Ethernet-based data acquisition solutions are ideal for portable or distributed applications. E-1608 offers low-cost multifunction analog and digital I/O. WEB-TEMP and WEB-TC modules feature a web server/web page interface allowing temperature monitoring from anywhere there is an internet connection and the IOTech 6000 series provide instrument class DAQ. These are now joined by the flexible SC-1608-2AO-ENET, the E-TC and TC-32 for Temperature, and the Digital E-DIO24 providing an Ethernet solution for most of your DAQ needs.
Official Australian distributor of Measurement Computing and iotech
About Firetail DAQ
Firetail DAQ Australia was established in June 2006 as the Australian distributor for Measurement Computing Corporation (MCC) and iotech of the USA by Roger Cawsey.
Previously Roger was the MCC Product and QA Manager at Novatech Controls, who were at the time the Australian distributors for MCC. He brings his great knowledge and expertise of data acquisition and of MCC products gained during this time to Australia and Firetail DAQ where Data Acquisition products are the sole focus. This enables Firetail DAQ to meet your Data Acquisition needs.
Firetail DAQ carries a wide selection of MCC products in stock available for overnight delivery. Stock levels vary but out of stock items are usually only 5 to 10 working days away. Availability and any delivery charges will be advised on your quotation or order acknowledgment.
